Species League 2020

We have 12 dates set and many of the boats and venues already booked for 2020 see table . We are looking for boat anglers in all regions, there are no joining fees just a one off £60 deposit for new members that books your first trip. All regions can be fished and you can choose which ever ports and dates you want to fish from. To get the most species – one of two top Species League UK Champions, you need to travel to different ports and various times of the year and this is a challenge in its own right to pick the best venue and date to target difficult to catch species. So, book your spaces early to avoid disappointment

South East Region  – Kent and Sussex – we may also look at ports in Essex as a future we have a fb group https://www.facebook.com/groups/376824656211187 with 97 members. There will be one boat booked with either 7 or 8 places available from May until November once a month on a Friday from Sheerness, Rye and Littlehampton so far. If we have enough interest, we will book a second boat. Regional champion will have best 5 scores from 6 events sponsored by Lagoon Bait and Tackle, Hove – members of the group get 10% discount on any tackle purchased in the shop please support Brett Lomas for his help

South Region  – Dorset and Hampshire we use the Species League UK fb group https://www.facebook.com/groups/speciesleague/ with over 1700 members There will be one or two boat booked with either 8 or 10 places available from Feb until December once a month on a Friday. Ports include Weymouth, Poole, Lymington and Langstone.  Regional champion will have best 9 scores from 10 events sponsored by Weymouth Angling Centre, members of the group get 10% discount on any tackle purchased in the shop please support Andy Selby for his help.

South West Region – Devon, Cornwall and Somerset we have a fb group https://www.facebook.com/groups/594190171098187/ There will be one boat booked with either 8 or 9 places available from May until November once a month on a Friday from ports including Lyme Regis (and yes 1 know is in Dorset but most of the fishing is in Devon waters), Dartmouth, Newquay and Minehead. If we have enough interest, we will book a second boat. In addition, the two-day September scores from Newquay also count towards the regional championship. Wales (South and West) Region we have a fb group https://www.facebook.com/groups/1075665312616178 with 73 members events booked with 6 events from ports including Tenby, Swansea and Pembrokeshire hopefully 7 dates with Champion based on best 6 scores

North West (inc North Wales) Region we have a fb group https://www.facebook.com/groups/204187300535927/ with 46 members events from Rhyl and Mersey in process of being arranged hopefully 6 events through year with best 5 scores to become regional champion

Species League UK

All of the above dates and venues score towards the overall UK championship with 12 events across the year the best 9 scores are counted towards the champion and placings.

Most Species Champion

All species caught by every angler are recorded and at the end of year there is separate Species Champion and placings.

We are also looking at other regions of the UK and if there is enough demand, we will run some boats in some new ports in 2020.
